The Philippines has called on Thailand and Cambodia to peacefully resolve their border dispute, emphasizing the importance of open communication and de-escalation.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that no Filipinos have been reported hurt in the recent clashes.
The DFA expressed hope that both ASEAN member states would settle the conflict according to international law and urged them to protect innocent civilians affected by the fighting.
Thailand recently launched airstrikes against Cambodian military targets, while a Cambodian attack reportedly killed 12 people, including civilians.
The two countries continue to blame each other for starting the conflict, which has severely strained their relations.
