The Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA) between the Philippines and Japan officially took effect on Thursday, strengthening their strategic partnership.
The agreement streamlines military cooperation by easing the deployment of forces for joint training and disaster response.
The Department of National Defense praised the collaboration and thanked the Philippine and Japanese governments for their support.
The RAA aims to boost the Philippines’ national security and regional stability.
The pact was signed in July 2024, ratified by President Marcos and the Philippine Senate, and approved by the Japanese Diet earlier this year.
