PHILIPPINE JIU-JITSU TEAM CELEBRATES SUCCESS AT GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Sixteen Filipino jiu-jitsu practitioners clinched gold medals at the Sports Jiu-jitsu International Federation World Championship in Nagoya, Japan. 

Brielle Bartolome was a standout, winning titles in both the gi and no gi divisions; she triumphed in the no-gi featherweight category by submitting Peng Nian of China and outpointing Nishimoto Wakana of Japan in the gi rooster-weight division. 

Marcus de la Cruz and Cesca Lepiten also excelled, with both athletes submitting all their opponents to secure gold medals in their respective divisions. 

Thiago Bartolome dominated the pre-teen no gi middleweight category, forcing his opponent to tap out with an Americana hold. 

Alvin Aguilar, founder of Deftac and Universal Reality Combat Championship, praised the Philippine Junior Grappling Team for their hard work and achievements, noting that all medalists are members of the Wrestling Association of the Philippines-RP Junior Grappling Team.
