The Baguio city government has received a second capitation fund from PhilHealth, following its strong performance in the “Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama” (Konsulta) program.
On September 9, Mayor Benjamin Magalong and acting city health officer Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes were presented with a check for P33,250,000 by PhilHealth-Baguio Chief Social Insurance Officer Janet Palaez.
This capitation fund is part of PhilHealth’s sandbox innovation program, which provides advance payments to primary care provider networks (PCPNs) before services are rendered.
Baguio, already one of the first seven PCPNs to receive capitation funds in December 2023, exceeded its performance target with a 111 percent accomplishment rate.
Mayor Magalong expressed gratitude for the additional funding, noting its importance given rising healthcare costs.
