Alberto Lim Jr. will lead the Philippine team in the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group IV tournament next week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, alongside teammates Eric Olivarez Jr., Ruben Gozales Jr., and Francis Casey Alcantara, with Joseph Lizardo as head coach.
The competition features two pools of four teams, with top teams battling for promotion and bottom teams facing relegation.
Recently, Lim won the men’s singles title at the Mayor Benedict Calderon Cup National Open, defeating Olivarez in the final.
Olivarez also claimed the doubles crown with partner Vicente Anasta, overcoming Lim and Lance Fernandez in a tight match.
The next tournament on the Palawan Pawnshop tennis circuit calendar is the Rep. Eric Olivarez National Open set for July 19 to 30 at the Olivarez Sports Center in Parañaque.
