The Philippines has expressed readiness to join a United Nations-led peacekeeping and humanitarian mission in Gaza, offering to contribute peacekeepers, teachers, and medical workers.
Ambassador Antonio Lagdameo emphasized the country’s commitment to ending conflict, upholding justice, and promoting human rights and international peace.
During a high-level UN conference on July 30, the Philippines reiterated its support for the peaceful resolution of the Palestine issue and the two-state solution based on international law.
The country also backs increasing the role of women in peacekeeping operations under the UN Security Council.
Since 1963, the Philippines has participated in 21 UN peace operations worldwide and continues to commit to deploying more women peacekeepers.
