Filipino Grandmaster Rogelio Antonio Jr. won eight medals at the 23rd ASEAN+ Age Group Chess Championships in Penang, Malaysia.
Competing in the men’s 50+ category, he earned four golds and two silvers across different events, including Standard, Rapid, and Blitz formats.
Antonio also secured two bronze medals at the pre-SEA Games event held earlier in July.
Meanwhile, the Philippine U12 team won two silver medals and one bronze medal in their categories.
In the team competition, Indonesia took first place, with the Philippines finishing fourth.
