The Department of Health (DOH) is monitoring developments in Russia following the death of a laboratory technician at a plague research institute in Siberia.
The agency is also reviewing recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), which said the risk of an epidemic remains low.
The DOH said the country is prepared to implement additional measures if needed.
The Bureau of Quarantine is screening travelers and strengthening surveillance for rodents and rodent fleas in incoming cargo and vessels.
Malacañang also assured the public that health authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
