PH ARMY ESTABLISHES RESERVE FORCE MADE UP OF ELITE SCOUT RANGERS

The Philippine Army has officially activated the reserve component of its elite Scout Rangers, composed exclusively of graduates and retired members of the Scout Ranger Course.

The activation ceremony was led by Army Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete at Camp Pablo Tecson in Bulacan on August 22.

The new reserve unit aims to enhance the military’s operational readiness and support territorial defense and internal security missions.

Known for their expertise in jungle warfare and counterinsurgency, the Scout Rangers’ specialized skills will now be more widely utilized across the armed forces.

This move aligns with the AFP’s focus on external defense amid rising tensions in the West Philippine Sea and strengthens the Army’s overall reserve force.
