PAY INCREASE FOR EASTERN VISAYAS WORKERS SET FOR DECEMBER 2

Private sector workers and domestic helpers in Eastern Visayas will benefit from wage increases starting December 2, following the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board’s (RTWPB) approval of Wage Order RB 8-24.

The order grants a ₱30 daily minimum wage hike for private sector workers, raising rates to ₱405-₱435, and a ₱500 monthly increase for domestic helpers, bringing their monthly wage to ₱5,500-₱6,000.

These adjustments, affirmed by the National Wages and Productivity Commission, aim to address workers’ needs and employers’ capacity while boosting wage-related benefits like 13th-month pay and social security.

The increases will directly impact 126,095 minimum wage earners and 57,080 domestic helpers, with potential indirect benefits for higher-earning workers.

Micro businesses and disaster-affected enterprises may apply for exemptions, while other regions are at varying stages of wage review processes.
