PASIG ORDERS CLOSURE OF HOTEL LINKED TO TRAFFICKING RAID

The Pasig City government has ordered the immediate closure of a hotel operated by Zerrin Development Corp., which runs Bleu Hotel, following a raid that uncovered alleged trafficking and prostitution activities on April 21.

Authorities said the action stems from violations of business permit conditions after 54 women were rescued from a nightclub operating within the same compound, according to the National Bureau of Investigation.

The city’s business permit and licensing office said the closure will remain in effect pending resolution of complaints filed before the prosecutor’s office.

The NBI reported that the nightclub and hotel operators had “interlocking” officers, which allegedly facilitated illegal operations, leading to trafficking and drug charges against 26 individuals.

The case has drawn attention due to alleged links to the family of former congressman Mike Defensor, who denied current involvement, saying his family divested from the hotel in 2019.
