Pasig City dropped from 6th place in 2019 to 9th in the 2024 Rankings of Highly Urbanized Cities, according to the Department of Trade and Industry’s Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index.
The rankings are based on five pillars: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation.
Under Mayor Vico Sotto’s leadership, Pasig scored 43.7356%, slightly lower than its 2023 score.
While Quezon City topped the list, followed by Manila and Pasay, Pasig ranked 8th in economic dynamism and 10th in government efficiency, both declines from previous years.
Despite consistent 9th place finishes in 2023 and 2024, Pasig was listed as the 8th Most Improved Highly Urbanized City, amid recent graft charges filed against Sotto over a new city hall project.
