Mayor Joy Belmonte and the Quezon City LGU have been awarded the Overall Most Competitive Local Government Unit under the Highly Urbanized Category for the fourth consecutive year by the DTI’s Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index 2024.
The city also secured top positions in Infrastructure, Innovation, and Resiliency, and received a special award from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.
Recognized for her exemplary governance, Mayor Belmonte has been honored with numerous accolades, including the UN Environment Programme’s “Champion of the Earth” award.
The city’s effective fiscal management, highlighted by four consecutive unqualified opinions from the Commission on Audit, underscores its commitment to transparency and accountability.
Under Belmonte’s leadership, Quezon City has focused on social services and digital innovation, benefiting millions of residents.
