ONG AND OTHERS FACE HUMAN TRAFFICKING CHARGES

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) have filed a qualified trafficking complaint against Cassandra Li Ong and over 50 others related to the Lucky South 99 POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga.

The complaint, lodged with the Department of Justice (DOJ), accuses Ong and her associates of violating the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.

Among those named are key figures from the POGO hub and other individuals allegedly involved in criminal activities.

The DOJ will also pursue the forfeiture of the POGO hub’s assets.

In a separate development, the Supreme Court has ordered an explanation for the continued detention of Ronelyn Baterna, who was held in contempt during a House inquiry into Lucky South 99’s illegal operations.
