NUMBER OF MONITORED POGOS FALLS TO 100, SAYS PAOCC

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) reported a sharp decline in Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs), with only 100 hubs left under monitoring.

Many POGOs have closed or are wrapping up operations, according to PAOCC Executive Director Gilbert Cruz.

He expressed confidence that the government would soon eradicate all illegal POGO remnants, despite their efforts to regroup.

Cases are expected to be filed against local officials involved in illegal POGO activities, with investigations showing progress.

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla earlier pledged to shut down all POGOs in the country by December, following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive.
