The Nueva Vizcaya provincial government has launched a three-year Provincial Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) to improve the health and well-being of its citizens.
The plan, spearheaded by Gov. Jose Gambito and Board Member Luisa Corazon Cuaresma, aims to reduce all forms of malnutrition and increase access to nutritious foods by 2028.
The PPAN aligns with national development frameworks such as AmBisyon Natin 2040 and involves collaboration with civil society, government agencies, and the Provincial Nutrition Committee.
A key strategy includes enforcing the Healthy Public Food Procurement Policy (HPFPP), supported by training programs to equip officials and stakeholders for effective implementation.
Officials say the initiative will enhance cognitive development, learning outcomes, productivity, and overall community health across the province.
