NO FILIPINO CASUALTIES WERE REPORTED IN THE MOROCCO EARTHQUAKE

The Philippine Embassy in Morocco has confirmed that there are no reported casualties among Filipinos in the country following the magnitude 6.8 earthquake that struck on Friday.

Ambassador Leslie Baja said that the embassy immediately contacted area coordinators to check on the situation of Filipinos across Morocco. He said that there are around 4,600 Filipinos in the country.

The earthquake was the strongest to hit Morocco in more than a century, and it caused widespread damage. More than 2,000 people have been killed and thousands more injured.

The embassy said that it will continue to monitor the situation and provide assistance to any Filipinos who need it. Those in need of assistance can contact the embassy through its hotline and social media accounts.
