With the new minimum wage hike taking effect on July 18, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reminded employers to correct possible wage distortions in their salary structures.
Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma stressed the importance of maintaining workplace harmony and avoiding worker demoralization, as some salaries may be overtaken by the new minimum rate.
He encouraged businesses to make the necessary adjustments voluntarily. Enterprises needing guidance may seek technical assistance from the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards.
Metro Manila’s new daily minimum wage will rise to ₱695 for non-agriculture workers and ₱658 for agriculture workers.
