The Philippine National Police (PNP) has introduced a new anti-drug campaign strategy focusing on dismantling drug supply chains rather than targeting street-level pushers and users.
PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil emphasized that the approach aims to address the root causes of the drug problem, minimize violence, and protect human rights.
The strategy will prioritize high-value drug personalities and the networks that control the drug trade, rather than low-level offenders.
Marbil likened the drug crisis to a Hydra, stating that previous methods failed by only addressing symptoms rather than the source.
This recalibrated strategy aligns with President Marcos’ vision for a safer Philippines, aiming for long-term solutions to the drug problem.
