The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) predicts that the services sector, including BPOs and IT, will be key in achieving the government’s 6-7% growth target for 2023.
NEDA cites the sector’s resilience to global shocks and its large contribution to GDP (75%) as key reasons for its optimism.
The agency also sees tourism and infrastructure investments as further growth engines, particularly as tourism recovers post-pandemic.
Reaching the target requires at least 7.2% growth in Q4 2023.
Looking ahead, NEDA aims to attract “massive investments” to boost productivity and create high-quality jobs.
