NBI SEEKS DOJ SUMMONS FOR PADILLA OVER DELA ROSA DISAPPEARANCE

The National Bureau of Investigation (National Bureau of Investigation) has recommended that the Department of Justice (Department of Justice) summon Sen. Robinhood Padilla to explain the disappearance of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa from Senate custody.

NBI Director Melvin Matibag said Padilla was the last known person seen with dela Rosa before he was declared missing, noting that the senator had admitted to giving him a ride and dropping him off at a specific location.

Authorities said the investigation is also reviewing CCTV footage and other individuals who may have been involved in the incident.

The NBI stressed that dela Rosa is now considered a fugitive from justice, and that those responsible for any escape from custody must be held accountable.

It also denied claims that CCTV footage related to the incident was tampered with, saying timestamps confirm its authenticity.
