On Tuesday, the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Supreme Court (SC), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) signed a memorandum of agreement to launch the National Justice Information System (NJIS).
The NJIS aims to facilitate the management and sharing of crucial information among these agencies.
DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla emphasized that improved data sharing will enhance the justice system, ensuring timely and fair punishment.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo noted that streamlined data sharing will aid in more effective policymaking in the justice sector.
DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos described NJIS as “handy” and expected it to be “expedient, fast, and effective” for all involved.
