In 2024, the Philippine National Police (PNP) dismissed over 900 officers for various offenses, as part of its ongoing internal cleansing efforts.
A total of 5,457 personnel were charged in 3,751 cases, with 2,765 receiving penalties and 2,691 exonerated.
Among those penalized, 1,112 officers, including high-ranking officials, were suspended, and 903 officers were dismissed, including five lieutenant colonels and 12 captains.
Other penalties included demotions, salary forfeiture, reprimands, and restrictions.
PNP Chief Rommel Marbil emphasized the organization’s commitment to accountability, citing the implementation of a Zero-Backlog Program to improve case handling and the training of 1,663 officers on disciplinary policies.
