METRO LGUS MOBILIZED IN RESPONSE TO TROPICAL STORM KRISTINE

Malabon City has been placed on full alert due to the impending impact of Tropical Storm Kristine. 

Acting city administrator Bianca Espiritu reported that the command and communications center is operational 24/7 to provide storm updates and that free rides are being offered to stranded passengers. 

The local government has prepared around 700 food packs for families seeking shelter in evacuation centers. 

Meanwhile, in Navotas and Valenzuela City, authorities have ensured that pumping stations are operational to mitigate flooding, with “libreng sakay” trucks deployed in flood-prone areas. 

In Marikina, classes in both public and private schools have been suspended, while the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has mobilized rescue personnel and assets to assist those affected by the storm.
