Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong has dismissed speculation that he is preparing to run for national office, stressing that his vocal stance against corruption should not be mistaken for political ambition.
Speaking at the 116th Baguio Day celebration, Magalong said critics often assume his outspokenness signals higher office aspirations.
He clarified that his advocacy is rooted in principle, not in a desire for more power.
“This is about doing what is right,” he said, emphasizing his commitment to good governance.
Magalong’s remarks came amid continued rumors linking him to future national posts.
