MARIKINA INCREASES SENIOR CITIZENS’ BIRTHDAY CASH GIFT TO ₱2,000

Marikina City has doubled its birthday cash gift for senior citizens to P2,000, according to an ordinance signed by Mayor Marcelino Teodoro.

The increase from the previous amount of P1,000 aims to provide more financial assistance to the elderly, enhancing their quality of life and dignity.

The ordinance describes the cash gift as a gesture of gratitude and respect for the city’s senior citizens. This boost in financial support is intended to address their unique needs and foster a sense of belonging within the community.

Marikina’s Office of Senior Citizens Affairs reports that there are currently 96,000 seniors in the city.
