President Marcos announced plans to open more Philippine embassies worldwide, furthering diplomatic ties through an independent foreign policy.
Speaking at the vin d’honneur at Malacañang, Marcos highlighted the establishment of four embassies in Europe and Latin America in 2023, with four more set to open this year in North America, Asia, and the Pacific.
By 2025, the country aims to have 102 foreign posts, reflecting its commitment to fostering global peace, cooperation, and adherence to international law.
Meanwhile, the Philippines inaugurated its first consulate in Szczecin, Poland, expanding its presence in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship region.
Ambassador Leah Basinang-Ruiz led the ceremonial opening, welcoming new honorary consul Zbigniew Jagniątowski to the Philippine diplomatic team.
