MARCOS ACCEPTS DPWH CHIEF BONOAN’S RESIGNATION, TAPS DIZON AS SUCCESSOR

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has accepted the resignation of Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan, effective September 1, amid investigations into anomalous flood control projects.

Bonoan expressed support for the administration’s push for accountability and transparency, but said leaving his post was not the solution.

Marcos appointed Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon as the new DPWH chief and directed him to ensure proper use of public funds for infrastructure.

Lawyer Giovanni Lopez was named acting Secretary of Transportation to maintain continuity in modernization programs.

The President also ordered an independent body to investigate flood control anomalies, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to fight corruption and improve public service.
