The City of Manila will declare August 4 as “Carlos Yulo Day” to commemorate the gymnast’s gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Yulo will be honored with a ceremony at Manila City Hall on August 19, where he will receive awards and a PHP 2 million cash incentive.
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan stated that the city council is preparing the resolution and hopes it will be finalized by Monday.
In addition, Olympic pole vaulter EJ Obiena will be awarded a PHP 500,000 cash incentive, with the payment scheduled earlier due to his upcoming travel.
