The Manila city government has opened its first public electric vehicle (EV) charging station at Kartilya ng Katipunan near Manila City Hall.
The facility features a 30-kilowatt direct-current fast charger and a 22-kilowatt alternating-current standard charger to serve EV users.
Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the project aims to address the shortage of public charging facilities and encourage more accessible, sustainable transportation.
The initiative was launched in partnership with ACMobility, which operates EV charging hubs across the country.
Two additional charging stations are planned at the Bagong Ospital ng Maynila and Sta. Ana Hospital before the end of 2026.
