A Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office employee was arrested for stealing 20 boxes of insecticide valued at over P2 million from a government storage facility.
Authorities also seized 12 additional bottles of insecticide and P140,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds from selling the stolen goods.
The suspect faces qualified theft charges, while another individual was charged with fencing stolen property.
The Manila City government condemned the theft and urged public servants to uphold integrity and public trust.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
