MANILA GOVERNMENT PROHIBITS POLITICAL GATHERINGS FOR UNDAS OBSERVANCE

The Manila city government has announced a ban on political and private events from October 30 to November 3 in observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

Repairs and repainting of tombs at the Manila North and South cemeteries are permitted until October 26, and the cemeteries will be open to the public from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

During this period, all burials and cremations will be suspended, while the Manila Police District and health personnel will be on standby for emergencies.

To assist visitors, portable toilets and e-tricycles will be provided for free to senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women.

Additionally, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has collected seven truckloads of garbage from around the cemeteries in preparation for the observances.
