Content creator Joel Ravanera, popularly known as Malupiton, is taking on his first lead role in the romantic comedy film “He’s Dating a Boldstar,” directed and produced by Niox Arcega under NKO Films.
Malupiton said adjusting to scripted comedy was challenging, particularly memorizing lines and portraying emotional scenes that differ from his usual spontaneous online content.
He hopes the film will showcase a different side of himself and prove that content creators can succeed in acting.
Actress Analyn Barro, who plays his leading lady, said she readily accepted the project because she believed in Malupiton’s comedic talent.
Barro also shared that their on-screen chemistry developed naturally through their comfortable working relationship and playful exchanges.
