MALACAÑANG: NO DECISION YET ON QUIBOLOY EXTRADITION

The Philippine government has yet to decide on the United States’ request to extradite Apollo Quiboloy, as the Department of Justice (DOJ) continues to review the documents submitted by US authorities.

Malacañang said the DOJ is examining whether the person named in the extradition request is indeed Quiboloy and whether the alleged US offenses meet the principle of double criminality under Philippine law.

The US is seeking Quiboloy’s extradition over charges including sex trafficking, visa fraud, and cash smuggling.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed authorities to carefully study the request before making a decision.

The government is considering whether Quiboloy will remain in the Philippines while facing local proceedings or whether the case could be placed on hold to allow his extradition.
