MALACAÑANG APPROVES LGUS’ EFFORTS IN TYPHOON PEPITO PREPAREDNESS

Malacañang expressed satisfaction with the preparedness of local government units (LGUs) as Super Typhoon Pepito approached, with LGUs promptly implementing evacuations as advised by the national government. 

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) spokesperson Joey Villarama commended the LGUs in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the Bicol region for their swift action. 

He also assured the public that enough relief supplies had been prepositioned for the affected areas. 

Meanwhile, Senator Bong Go called for a review of the government’s disaster funds, emphasizing the need for transparency and proper allocation to ensure efficient disaster response. 

Go also reiterated his push for the creation of a Department of Disaster Resilience to address gaps in disaster preparedness and response.
