MAJOR FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AFFECTED BY FLOODING, TEMPORARILY SHUT BRANCHES

On July 25, major financial institutions including BDO Unibank, Land Bank of the Philippines, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), and Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) reported widespread branch closures due to flooding caused by Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon. 

BDO closed 89 branches, with most closures in Metro Manila and Northern Luzon. Land Bank shut 77 branches in Luzon, including significant closures in Metro Manila and Southern Luzon, and reduced hours in other areas. 

BPI closed 33 branches, while Metrobank reported 65 closures. 

Despite these disruptions, ATMs, mobile banking, and online banking services remain operational.
