LTO INTRODUCES ONLINE DRIVER’S LICENSE RENEWAL FOR OFWS IN JAPAN

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) launched its online driver’s license renewal program for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Osaka, Japan, marking its second global rollout after Taiwan.

Acting Assistant Secretary Greg G. Pua, Jr. said the service aims to help at least 1,000 OFWs renew their licenses conveniently through an information drive and a user-friendly platform.

Applicants must upload required documents, including a medical certificate from an LTO-accredited telemedical facility, to expedite processing.

Once payment is made, the renewed license will be printed and shipped to the OFW’s address in Japan within three to five days.

The LTO plans to expand this digital service to other regions such as the Middle East, the United States, and Europe.
