The Department of Health (DOH) reported that leptospirosis cases in the Philippines reached 11,965 as of September 23, 2026, representing a 46-percent increase from 8,189 cases during the same period last year.
The agency recorded a slight decline in leptospirosis infections during the latest monitoring period, although the overall number of cases remains elevated.
The cumulative case fatality rate for leptospirosis stood at 5.08 percent, lower than the 10.53 percent recorded in the previous year.
Meanwhile, dengue cases reached 168,060, down 30 percent from 239,001 cases during the same period last year, with 656 deaths reported.
The DOH urged people exposed to floodwaters to seek medical advice, even if they do not immediately experience symptoms.
