The Lapu-Lapu City government in Cebu has proposed a ₱5.13-billion budget for 2027, representing an increase of approximately ₱409.78 million from its ₱4.72-billion budget for 2026.
Mayor Ma. Cynthia “Cindi” King-Chan and Vice Mayor Celedonio “Celsi” Sitoy led the formal submission of the proposed budget to the City Council on October 16.
The proposed spending plan prioritizes health and education alongside other social and economic services.
The city also intends to allocate resources for preparations against the expected effects of El Niño.
The proposed budget still requires review and approval by the City Council before it can be implemented next year.
