The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is hosting two special job fairs offering around 14,000 local and overseas employment opportunities for workers affected by the ban on Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs).
DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma announced that the job fairs will be held at Ayala Mall Manila Bay in Parañaque City and Ayala Mall Circuit in Makati City, featuring 60 local employers in Parañaque offering 8,162 jobs in sectors such as BPO, construction, and tourism.
The Makati job fair will include 44 local employers and four overseas recruitment firms, providing 5,582 job openings for positions like nurses, welders, and cruise ship staff.
Approximately 79,735 workers, both Filipino and foreign, are at risk of losing their jobs due to the POGO ban.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has tasked DOLE with facilitating new employment opportunities for these individuals.
