Disc jockey Jellie Aw has gained the support of women’s rights group GABRIELA after accusing her fiancé, Jam Ignacio, of physical assault.
Aw shared photos of her bruised face on social media, alleging that Ignacio attacked her inside a car and that she only managed to escape when their RFID sticker failed at a toll gate.
GABRIELA commended Aw for her courage in speaking out and emphasized the difficulties women face in reporting abuse due to fear and stigma.
The group reiterated its commitment to amplifying voices against violence against women and children (VAWC) and urged the public to take part in movements like One Billion Rising to demand justice.
Ignacio, previously in a relationship with actress Karla Estrada, got engaged to Aw in November 2023, just four months into their relationship.
