JAPETH AGUILAR SKIPS GILAS PILIPINAS’ DOHA JOURNEY

Japeth Aguilar will not be joining Gilas Pilipinas in Doha for the 2nd International Friendly Basketball Championship from Feb. 14-16 due to personal obligations, though he is not injured, according to team manager Richard del Rosario.

Aguilar is expected to rejoin the national team for its FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers away games against Taiwan and New Zealand.

Barangay Ginebra forward Troy Rosario will temporarily take his spot in Doha, though his inclusion in the final 12 remains uncertain.

The Gilas roster for the tournament will largely remain the same, except for Kai Sotto, who is sidelined after ACL surgery.

Naturalized players Justin Brownlee, June Mar Fajardo, Scottie Thompson, and Dwight Ramos will lead the squad, while AJ Edu and Jamie Malonzo return from injuries.
