Philippines and Qatar anticipate finalizing the ratification of an investment deal later this year, following discussions between their trade officials.
The agreement aims to deepen economic ties between the two nations, with Philippine Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual expressing confidence in its potential for productive investment outcomes.
Both countries also plan to enhance cooperation on intellectual property rights protection to address concerns about counterfeit Filipino brands in the Middle East.
Additionally, they affirmed a commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment and discussed plans for the inaugural Philippines-Qatar Joint Economic, Commercial, and Technical Committee meeting next year.
Pascual emphasized the importance of strengthening economic partnerships to foster prosperity and stability in both regions.
