The Intramuros Administration officially launched the Intramuros App, a web-based platform designed to enhance tourism by providing easy access to information on historic sites, tours, events, and local services within Manila’s Walled City.
Developed in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and CIIT College of Arts and Technology, the app aims to make history more accessible through a user-friendly digital guide.
Features include historical content, dining options, a social feed, and an events calendar, with plans for augmented reality storytelling and sustainable tourism tools in the future.
The launch supports broader modernization efforts, including the introduction of an eco-friendly electric tram and initiatives promoting halal food safety and inclusivity.
This project reflects a collaborative effort to blend heritage preservation with science and innovation, aligning with DOST’s OneDOST4U framework.
