On Friday, lawmakers interrogated AR dela Serna, former executive assistant to ex-presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, about their joint bank account.
During a House of Representatives hearing, Santa Rosa City Rep. Dan Fernandez questioned the necessity of such an account, typically reserved for close family members, given its use during Roque’s 2022 senatorial campaign.
Dela Serna admitted to having a joint account with Roque, revealing that while the account is now closed, transactions up to PHP 3 million were conducted, mainly for payroll purposes.
Lawmakers, including Antipolo 2nd District Rep. Romeo Acop, expressed concern about the nature of the account and the apparent trust between Roque and Dela Serna, suggesting it resembled arrangements usually seen among married couples or close family members.
Roque, who has been linked to the raided Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) hub in Porac, Pampanga, has denied any connection to the operations.
