ILOILO CITY WELCOMES NEW POLICE CHIEF UNDER PRO-6 LEADERSHIP

Colonel Kim Legada has been appointed as the new chief of police for Iloilo City, announced Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director BGen. Jack Wanky on Tuesday.

Pending the official order of appointment, Legada, currently serving as chief of the Regional Plans and Strategy Management Division of PRO-6, is expected to succeed Colonel Joeresty Coronica, who assumed leadership of ICPO last year.

There are indications that Coronica and Legada may swap positions, with the turnover of command potentially scheduled for July 15.

Mayor Jerry Treñas praised Coronica’s tenure, highlighting the city’s effective drug recoveries and proactive police presence while emphasizing the need for the new ICPO chief to continue addressing the city’s illegal drug issues.
