The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) is recommending charges against former DPWH Secretary Manny Bonoan, at least three current or former senators, and other officials over alleged corruption in flood control projects. ICI Chairperson Andres Reyes Jr. said the Ombudsman will be asked to assess possible violations of the Code of Conduct and ethical standards by the officials involved. The commission previously recommended complaints against Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva. The move highlights ongoing efforts to hold public officials accountable for mismanagement in infrastructure projects. Formal cases are expected to be filed in the coming week.
