The House of Representatives has completed deliberations on the 2025 budgets for eight key agencies, including three independent constitutional bodies.
Approved budgets include those for the Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Department of Justice (DOJ), National Economic and Development Authority, judiciary, Ombudsman, and Commission on Human Rights.
Notably, the DOF budget was pushed for increases to support the Bureau of Internal Revenue and Bureau of Customs, while the judiciary’s budget was set at PHP 63.57 billion, lower than the requested amount.
The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has requested additional funds to address a significant backlog of housing units.
This appeal is part of a broader push to accelerate housing production and improve allocation for the DHSUD.
