The House of Representatives quad committee cited lawyer Harry Roque in contempt on Thursday for failing to submit required documents related to its investigation into Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs).
Roque is to be detained at the House’s facility until he provides the subpoenaed documents, including a deed of sale, his income tax return, and SALNs from 2016 to 2022.
During the hearing, the committee rejected Roque’s motion to quash, which had already been addressed in previous deliberations.
Roque, a former spokesman for ex-President Duterte, denounced the probe as a political attack and claimed the documents requested are irrelevant to the POGO investigation.
House leaders have denied any political motives behind the inquiry.
