DoubleDragon Corp., led by Edgar “Injap” Sia II and Tony Tan Caktiong, is set to open a 766-room Hotel101 in Melbourne’s central business district, marking its largest property in the city.
The hotel, expected to be completed by 2029, will introduce Hotel101’s standardized “condotel” model to Australia, offering four-star amenities, meeting spaces, and a conference center for business travelers.
Strategically located on Flinders Lane, the property aims to complement Melbourne’s existing premium hotels while generating approximately AU$323.6 million (P12.6 billion) in sales revenue.
This expansion is part of Hotel101’s global growth plan, which includes upcoming properties in Niseko, Madrid, Los Angeles, and joint ventures in Saudi Arabia and Milan.
DoubleDragon emphasizes its tech-enabled model, which generates revenue from both the pre-sale of units and ongoing hotel operations, driving its global ambitions toward 100 countries.
